What I can help you with

You need a guide before you get stuck.

Facing a powerful employer, a supervisory authority or the police can be like standing at the top of a steep mountain on unsteady ground, with no idea how to get down. That is when you ask for help from someone who has done it before, someone who sees the possibilities where you see only limitations. Someone who takes you safely down where the way looks impassable. Like the skier in the picture.

When the challenge is massive it is good to be small, as long as you take the problem head-on.

When you face legal challenges from an opponent as formidable as the state, it is easy to feel very small and helpless, with no gut feeling for what the smart move is. Where others hit the wall, you have to find the door.

That is when you go to a pro. Someone you barely need to tell what you need, but who throws himself at the job with no reverence for anything but the best possible outcome for you.

We do not wait to see what the state, or the other side in an employment dispute, comes up with – we gather our own evidence, lay a sound strategy and present our case when the timing is best. It sounds easy, but it never is. It only looks easy when you know how.

Sometimes it feels as if you are heading into a tight spot, that the ground is burning under your feet and you are afraid of shooting yourself in the foot. Maybe you are right, maybe you are wrong. It is never wrong to be proactive: get an assessment of the situation and take preventive action. Here you do not need lofty thoughts to think out loud. Perhaps you should avoid that mountain, or lay the route through safer terrain.

You will get the support and help you need, both you and those closest to you.

Before I became a lawyer more than 20 years ago I was a guide in the mountains, and I have brought that mentality with me into the legal profession: we must learn to live with the risks, we must prepare well for the dangers that experience tells us may arise, we must dare to push when conditions are at their best, and above all we must stay on the offensive.

Most likely you are on this page because someone you know advised you to get in touch. Go for it, and get in touch early if you are suspected of a criminal offence, if you fear dismissal or the consequences of dismissing someone, or if you are unsure whether the contracts you are about to enter into are safe.

Criminal law. Employment law. Contract law. If your problem lies in another area of law, you will surely get better assistance elsewhere. Only expert help is offered here.

Cases are not compared. Here it is enough that the case is big to you. Occupation and social background are entirely irrelevant – those who need help get it, and free legal aid is a matter of course if you are entitled to it.

This lawyer smiles as long as he gets to go to court and fight. That usually happens every single week. No two cases are alike, and every case must be adapted to the conditions. They say a good lawyer knows the law, but a brilliant lawyer knows the judge. Perhaps there is a drop of truth in that.
